THANK YOU FOR ALL THE SUPPORT!
Thank you Everyone for supporting this project! While the nursery sales provide approximately 25% of our operating budget, we rely on donors and occasional grants. This year we are grateful to the Bill Graham Foundation for their support of our work. Hats off and gratitude to them. In the face of modern industrial agriculture we have lost 95% of our genetic diversity, and with your help all of us are saving the very best gems still growing throughout California’s Gold Rush Country.

SUGGESTED CARE AND GUIDE FOR CARE OF LARGE POTTED FRUIT TREES
Take care of the 5-7 Gallon Potted Fruit Tree until Winter Dormancy and then Plant in Ground. During the Summer heat keep well watered, perhaps every 2-3 days, in a semi shaded area to keep from drying out and dying. Avoid Overwatering and root rot. They like to be well watered and then dried out a bit, but not bone dry. A good way to judge water is by weight. Pick it up dry and pick it up super wet and feel the difference. Roots should not be dangerously Root Bound with just one season in pot, but if you hold onto the Tree another year without planting you may want to transplant into a larger pot to avoid Root Bound Pots. When you transplant the dormant tree, gently tease roots away to break the pot mold. The Roots are pretty tough and don’t worry about a few breakages. Cut out any dead roots or shoots and prune the top of your tree back.
