A beautiful green apple worthy of propagation and consumption. It is a medium to large apple with light russeting rays in the cavity and some slight ribbing. This offspring of the Rhode Island Greening has many of its characteristics. It has a crunchy texture but with a more delightful, sweet flavor. A great fresh eating apple as well as a good pie apple. It was first recognized in the old Plymouth colony.

This apple was found in Goodyears Bar, Sierra County CA at our friend, octogenarian, Cy Rollins' place. Cy and daughter Little Diane steward many old fruit trees on their mountain homestead. If you are lucky, you might catch them in their small museum in Goodyears Bar. And you may get to hear some rich stories about the many relics left from the mining days as well as some of the Rollins family history.
